The Renaissance Blog

Humanism and secularism play a major role in our life.  These two things are important to all of us because without either, life would be drastically different and our freedoms would be limited if we had them at all.  Secularism allows for government branches and keeps us from establishing a monarchy.  Humanism values the lives of every human, and allows for philosophical peers to emerge.  The best quality of our civilization today, in my opinion, is the social media that allows for us to see people in real time no matter how far away.  Constant innovations lead to technological advancements that not only help individuals/households, but supply the global needs of our economy and security.  Although sometimes it can be easy to get caught up in the new and exciting things that are being created, we still celebrate ancient technologies.  This can be seen when King Tutankhamun was a major archeologist find.  It astonished everyone by its age, past, and history.  The cultures in the world are still thriving and seem to be imitating the Renaissance era.   Thus, the saying, history repeats itself.  Capitalism is one of the most important aspects in the economy.  Without trade, the United States would have limited resources from everything such as oil to different spices.  Capitalism is super important in our cultural ways and lacking an economy would cause civilization to fall.  An easy example is of the farmer who lives off potatoes and he doesn’t trade.  The potatoes will eventually stop growing and the farmer will die of starvation.  Trade can be compared to a backup generator that kicks in when power is needed.  Civilizations from ancient to modern have and will always be connected.
